Studies in Isaiah: Peace for God’s People

Our focus this week is Isaiah 2:1-5, which uses the imagery of beating swords into plowshares and spears into pruning hooks. Such peace is only possible through God, who sent Jesus into the world to bring peace between us and God.

Below are links to several resources. Pay special attention to the articles and the link to the United Nations statue.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

In Jesus,

Pastor Richard

Isaiah 2:5 He shall judge between the nations,
and shall arbitrate for many peoples;
they shall beat their swords into plowshares,
and their spears into pruning hooks;
nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
neither shall they learn war any more. (NRSV)
