Luke 2 -What Will Become of This Child? (Week 2)

This week we continue our look at Luke 2 as we follow Mary, Joseph, and the infant Jesus to the temple. The prophetic messages of Simeon and Anna proclaim loudly Jesus’ identity and mission. Simeon’s message that Jesus will be a light for revelation is especially significant.

Jesus desires to be your light too, guiding you into a life-changing relationship with God through the cross.

In Jesus,

Pastor Richard

Luke 2.28-33: Simeon took (Jesus) in his arms and praised God, saying,

“Master, now you are dismissing your servant in peace,
according to your word;
for my eyes have seen your salvation,
which you have prepared in the presence of all peoples,
a light for revelation to the Gentiles
and for glory to your people Israel.”

And the child’s father and mother were amazed at what was being said about him (NRSV)
