Thanks for taking part in this 8-week look at the Gospel of Luke. This week we began with an account that, to some, might seem out of place. While Luke 2 is often associated with Christmas, it doesn’t mean that we should relegate it to once a year. The birth of Jesus is a vital part of the Gospel narrative, and is meant to be read and reflected on throughout the year. We are invited to praise and ponder the Good News that God sent Jesus to call us to new life.

Luke 2.18-19: And all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds told them. But Mary treasured all these words and pondered them in her heart. (NRSV)
