2 Samuel 2 (Week 4)

This week we turn to 2 Samuel 2, where we witness the sad and painful reality of division. This divide started between King Saul and David, and quickly spread to the entire nation. Sin was at the heart of this division, and it’s at the heart of our own divisions too. There’s only one cure for the mark of sin on ourselves and the world: Jesus Christ. Through His suffering, death, and resurrection, Jesus restores us to God and sends us to share the Good News of His healing and redemptive work.

2 Samuel 2.26 – Abner called out to Joab, “Do you want our swords to keep on killing us off? Don’t you know that all this fighting will end in bitter feelings? How long will it be before you order your men to stop chasing their fellow Israelites?” (NIRV)
